Caretta - Caretta
Mounda (or otherwise Kaminia) beach is universally known as one of the official breeding grounds for the sea turtle Caretta-Caretta.
During the month of June - and with respect to nature’s process - our guests have the luxury to watch the mother turtles while they come ashore to lay their eggs on the beach, bury them deep in the sand, and then return to the sea.
The eggs stay incubated for about 60 days. By August, the baby turtles (neonates) dig the sand all by themselves, until they reach the earth's surface and walk instinctively towards the sea, where they begin the long journey of their life.
